Description Robert Half currently has a vacancy for a permanent Senior Accountant to bring their leadership skills and experience to a growing finance team in the Houston, Texas area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Excellent attention to detail
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Able to manage time well
ERP system experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Adeptness in Fixed Asset Accounting
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Reconciliation
Strong familiarity with general ledger
Command of month end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Strong communication and social skills
