Description
We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Houston, Texas. The role is set within the finance industry and involves key responsibilities such as overseeing financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting and forecasting, accounts reconciliation, internal controls, compliance, audit support, team leadership, and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Generate financial statements and review them to ensure their accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Conduct the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and report significant issues to management.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Requirements
• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in account reconciliation
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong experience with accounting software
