Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant with our chemical manufacturing client in Houston, Texas. The job function revolves around managing daily accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting and consolidated statements.

What you get to do every day

• Handle daily accounting functions to maintain financial efficiency.

• Ensure the preparation and execution of journal entries and account reconciliations during monthly and annual closing activities.

• Develop and present consolidated financial statements and detailed financial reports for management review.

• Manage fixed assets register, calculate depreciation and track all items accurately.

• Implement and uphold financial procedures and controls to comply with accounting regulations.

• Provide accounting support for specialty areas, such as tax functions and inventory management.

• Work closely with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial planning processes.

• Support the finance department in special projects and workflow process improvements.

• Utilize skills in General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, Fixed Asset Accounting, Financial Reporting, IFRS - Intl Financial Reporting Stds, Consolidated Financial Statements, Consolidations to enhance job performance.

Requirements

How you will be selected for this position

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.

• Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.

• Proficient in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting.

• Capable of preparing and analyzing Financial Reporting.

• Knowledge of IFRS - Intl Financial Reporting Standards.

• Experience in preparing Consolidated Financial Statements.

• Proficient in performing Consolidations.

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Commitment to adhering to ethical accounting practices and principles.
