Role: Sr. Tax Accountant

Job Summary: The Tax Team is seeking high-achieving individuals, capable of expanding their impact beyond traditional tax roles. You will be preparing and analyzing federal, state and local returns plus assisting with international tax compliance, as well as providing expert guidance to numerous teams within our organization. This role offers exposure to a wide range of our businesses and investment transactions and will give you the opportunity to help drive regional and global decision-making processes.

Key Duties:

Review and prepare federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returns and estimated/extension tax payments.

Manage federal and state components of quarterly income tax accruals, conduct tax account reconciliations, maintain deferred tax items and calculate current and deferred tax for provision reporting.

Gather, organize, calculate and correctly utilize data from accounting and trading systems.

Respond to federal and state income and franchise tax audits and jurisdictional tax notices.

Identify tax savings opportunities, performing tax planning.

Support investment and deal teams in new business acquisitions and/or sales processes.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1 – 4 + years of experience in federal/state tax consulting and/or equivalent tax compliance/provision experience in business or industry.

Experience in partnership and state tax (preferred).

CPA license or specific plan to obtain is strongly preferred.

The candidate should have the ability to continually self-assess, challenge existing processes, and strive for improvements. A sense of accountability for key deliverables, solid communication skills, and demonstrated follow-through abilities are also important aspects we look for. Technically speaking, proficiency in automation tools such as Alteryx for improving processes, particularly in the indirect tax function, is a valuable skill.

Requirements
