Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Tax Sr. - Corporate based in Houston, Texas. The role involves the preparation of international, federal, and state income and franchise tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filings. You will also be responsible for the preparation of federal and state income tax filings, estimated tax payments, and extensions. You will be part of a team that operates in the industry and utilizes skills such as GAAP Accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage the preparation and submission of international, federal, and state income and franchise tax returns for a consolidated group of companies to minimize assessments and penalties.

• Handle the preparation of federal and state income tax filings, estimated tax payments, and extensions.

• Lead the gathering and preparation of documentation related to Accounting for Income Taxes under ASC 740.

• Prepare and assess the international components of consolidated U.S. federal income tax return including Forms 1118, 5471, 5713, 8858, 8865, and related elections and consolidated return statements.

• Handle the resolution process for state and federal tax notices and tax audits with various federal, state, and local governmental agencies.

• Research and resolve international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and proactively monitor legislative changes to ensure compliance.

• Lead in the completion of tax planning and special projects such as mergers and acquisitions (M& A).

• Independently document, review, and test the performance of internal controls and procedures for SOX compliance testing.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's or Honours Degree in a relevant field

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in corporate tax or a related role

• Proficiency in GAAP Accounting

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
