Description
Our client is offering an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Controller based in Howell, Michigan. This role is instrumental in the financial planning and implementation of new business strategies and managing the finance department.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the key company representative on financial matters to external parties.
• Develop and implement financial plans and new business strategies to enhance shareholder value.
• Provide meaningful financial reports to the board and president, including preparation of materials for shareholders’ and board meetings.
• Establish accounting policies and procedures in line with generally accepted accounting principles and industry standards.
• Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions to secure financing as needed.
• Coordinate with independent accounting firms to establish and maintain a productive relationship.
• Establish federal income tax policy and coordinate tax compliance reporting.
• Minimize federal, state, and local tax liabilities through effective tax planning and research.
• Offer analytical support for special projects as requested by the president.
• Represent the company in community business functions to develop beneficial contacts and gain community support for necessary local government actions.
Skills:
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Auditing skills
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting
• Experience in Cash Flow Management
• Understanding of GAAP Accounting
