We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Tax Accountant in the professional services industry, based in Hugo, Minnesota. The role entails responsibilities in tax preparation, auditing, compliance, and various accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update customer records, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements.

• Conduct multi-state tax returns and individual tax return operations.

• Handle bookkeeping functions and provide full charge bookkeeper services.

• Manage entity formation and income tax accounting tasks.

• Ensure compliance with federal tax regulations and company policies.

• Use Lacerte Tax Software for efficient tax preparation and auditing.

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on account status.

• Resolve customer inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.

• Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a tax accounting role

• Proficiency in accounting software systems is required

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting functions and auditing

• Familiarity with compliance, entity formation, and financial statement preparation is essential

• Experience with Lacerte Tax Software is desired

• Prior experience in bookkeeping and bookkeeping functions

• Ability to handle multi-state tax returns and individual tax returns

• Knowledge of income tax accounting and federal tax regulations

• Experience as a full charge bookkeeper is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
