Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Huntersville, North Carolina. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is instrumental in maintaining the accuracy of our financial information and contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank transactions including deposits, posting cash, reconciling bank statements, and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary information.
• Support the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Respond to financial inquiries from management and other departments. Requirements • Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 5 years in the field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Comprehensive understanding of account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Familiarity with general ledger management and journal entries
• Ability to manage month-end close procedures
• Experience in preparing federal tax return and fiduciary income tax return
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) will be considered a plus.
