Description
Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. What you get to do every single day
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Great attention to detail
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
CPA or MBA preferred
Foundational knowledge in Construction Accounting
Command of Certified Payroll
Experience with Job Cost
Budget forecasting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
