Accountemps is looking for an experienced candidate capable of supporting the Payroll department at a growing company in the Finance Consulting industry as a Payroll Clerk. The role will be based in the Huntsville, Alabama region. This challenging position calls for a candidate with a strong sense of initiative looking to advance their career path and work alongside an industry leader. The company is a dynamic, fast-growing team, looking for an individual who can communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's daily functions may consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is a temporary-to-full-time employment role.

What you get to do every single day

  • Communicate with organization employees via a variety of channels to obtain approvals of timesheets

  • Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Build a system of administering and distributing reports

  • Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Configure custom reports

Requirements

  • Eagerness to master new systems

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Skilled in Payroll software

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

  • Foundational knowledge in multi-state payroll

  • HRIS Payroll System experience

  • Garnishments payroll experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Ceridian Payroll System

  • Adeptness in payroll systems for 100-500 employees

  • Expertise in Multi-state Payroll

  • Previous payroll experience
