Description Robert Half is searching for an efficient Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required Requirements - Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Command of cash management
Payroll experience highly desired
Analysis experience
Analysis experience preferred
Adeptness in Manage Vendor Relationships
Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
CPA/MBA preferred
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
