Robert Half Healthcare Practice has partnered with a company in the Non-Profit field, to fill an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. The Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk role offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a company in the Non-Profit industry. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract opening slated to last 6 months. The Accounts Payable Clerk position will require to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

This project will be a hybrid work environment, where our client offers remote work 2-3 days per week.

NOTE: This person will work partially remote, but will still need to be local to Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned

  • Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

  • Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed

  • Produce full-cycle A/P

  • Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Help with internal and external audits as required

  • Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

Requirements - Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • 1+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • Good understanding of Posting Journal Entries

  • Deep understanding of data entry

  • Previous experience working with Posting Payments

  • Adeptness in Electronic Payments

  • General familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Abila MIP experience highly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mail Checks

  • Numeric data entry experience preferred

  • Background working with non-profit fund accounting

  • Command of Process Payments

  • Earlier work involving Post Invoices

  • Process Check Requests experience

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
