Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role involves working for one of our clients in the insurance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple tasks associated with accounts payable, communicating effectively with vendors, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the processing of accounts payable invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and providers.
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate accounts payable records in line with accounting standards.
• Reconciling vendor statements and resolving any discrepancies swiftly and effectively.
• Communicating with vendors to resolve issues related to payments or invoices.
• Managing the accounts payable email inbox and responding to inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assisting with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Monitoring accounts payable aging reports and ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices.
• Preparing and processing electronic payments and checks for approval.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
• Providing support for other accounting and finance functions as necessary.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Coding is required
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct software is a plus
• Extensive experience in Accounts Payable (AP) management
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles
• Experience in Auditing is preferred
