Description
Our client is a multi-state/site, family-owned business for over 50 years with a robust record of stability and growth. We believe in treating our employees like family and are now seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Controller reporting to the VP of Operations. This critical position is open due to the retirement of a long-serving team member.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all accounting functions including A/P check signing and review, journal entries, and sales analysis.
Direct and supervise the Staff Accountant.
Prepare and present corporate monthly financial statements, branch operation reports, and a narrative analysis of results to top management.
Develop annual operating and capital budgets.
Coordinate and manage annual physical inventory and audit; reconcile to the general ledger.
Oversee daily treasury functions including funding analysis and cash flow projections.
Analyze the company's insurance needs; evaluate, negotiate, and finalize policies.
Oversee health insurance renewals, update rent payments to landlords.
Prepare operational reports, coordinate annual ESOP valuation and review the performance of the company 401K plan.

Requirements
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Controller.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle confidential data responsibly.
Proficiency in financial and accounting software, Excel, and financial modeling.
Experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and auditing procedures.
Professional certifications like CMA or CPA are highly desirable.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
