Robert Half is seeking an accomplished and motivated candidate for an Employee Relations Consultant position at a large hospital network here in Indianapolis. The Employee Relations Consultant will be in charge of a wide variety of responsibilities, including owning a number of different personnel related administrative tasks and providing clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources related activities, policies, processes, and procedures. This long-term contract-to-full-time opportunity offers a flexible work schedule. Our clients offers a robust benefits packages once hired on permanently! This role will be focused on:

  • Unemployment Claims

  • Unemployment Hearings

  • Exit Interview Process & Related Reporting

  • LOA & FMLA

  • Investigations for small departments

  • Manage employee database archives

  • Capability to interact with all levels of staff in a rapidly quickly changing environment while maintaining an approachable and appropriate demeanor

  • Experience handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Unemployment Hearings experience

  • Well-founded grasp of Incident Investigations

  • Command of Unemployment

  • Solid understanding of Unemployment Claim

  • Leave of absences experience preferred

  • Quality experience with HR Policy

  • General familiarity with Human Resources (HR) Administration

  • Proven knowledge of Conducts Investigations

  • Practical knowledge of HR Partners

  • Experience with FMLA

  • Wide ranging experience with HR compliance

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

  • At least 2+ years of HR related experience desired

  • Advanced in office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

* Working knowledge of employment laws preferred *

Bachelor’s degree in social science, humanities, business or related degree plus at least two (2) years of experience; OR Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations/Employee Engagement

SHRM-CP/PHR certification desirable
