Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our clients growing team in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana. The role requires a detail-oriented individual to handle general accounting duties, capital project tracking, and fixed asset processes. The successful candidate will participate in period close, prepare journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee general accounting duties and ensure accuracy in all financial data
• Manage the tracking of capital projects and maintain the fixed asset process
• Contribute significantly to period-end close procedures
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits
• Improve existing accounting processes to enhance efficiency
• Leverage MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to perform tasks effectively
• Apply analytical skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
• Applicant must hold a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant.
• Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
• Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries is required.
• A solid understanding and experience of General Ledger management.
• Must have a track record of performing Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Should possess strong analytical skills and the capacity to work under deadlines.
• Should be able to work independently and also as part of a team.
• A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) highly desired
• Knowledge of accounting software and applications.
• Must adhere to strict ethical standards and show a high level of integrity.
