Robert Half Staff Accountant in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana
Description There's currently a long-term contract / temporary position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. What you get to do every day
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Partake in annual closing processes
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Current and relevant ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Bank statements experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
