Description

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our growing client to join their team located in Indianapolis. This role will require you to work daily in the general ledger, process accounts payable and and assist in the monthly and yearly closing processes. Your responsibilities will also include generating daily reports and supporting during financial audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the general ledger through month-end activities.

• Handle accounts payable by ensuring invoices are reviewed, approved, and posted to the correct General Ledger accounts.

• Generate weekly Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging summaries and submit for review.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, additional reports, and completion of all informational requirements from the corporate office.

• Generate accounting reports for production, consumption, invoicing, and on-time delivery.

• Accumulate and enter each shift's report data into the daily shift report.

• Assist with past due accounts by communicating with customers on past due invoices.

• Review and issue credits as needed, and process customer rebates.

• Provide backup support for the Controller.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position.

• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes.

• Proven experience with bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with maintaining and balancing the general ledger.

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries.

• Experience with month-end close procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
