Robert Half Staff Accountant in Interlaken, New Jersey
Description Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed organization to find a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The organization offering this multi-faceted short-term contract / temporary opportunity is based in the Interlaken, New Jersey region, and provides a terrific work environment where effort is rewarded.
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management Requirements - Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to meet deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience with ERP systems
Foundational knowledge in general ledger
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Journal entries experience highly desired
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks
Adeptness in month end closings
Proficiency in bank reconciliations
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
