Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
CPA experience desired
Profit Loss experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in Asset Based Lending
Strong familiarity with external auditing
Command of Consolidated Financial Statements
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
CPA or MBA preferred
