Description
A Medical Billing Company is in the need of a Medical Insurance Collections Specialist. This organization is contracted with several hospitals and medical groups throughout the country and is looking for a skilled candidate with 2 to 4 years of experience in recent medical collections. This position is 100% remote but the right candidate must be able to work between Hawaii and Pacific Time Zone
The Medical Insurance Collections Specialist will be tasked with:
• Process and review account adjustments, resolve balances, and manage collection processes.
• Handle all aspects of patient/insurance billing and collections for assigned accounts.
• Contact insurance companies to confirm coverage and seek resolution for outstanding claims.
• Respond to patient inquiries about outstanding balances and resolve billing and insurance related complaints.
• Review reports for delinquent accounts and liaise with collections agencies as necessary.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA privacy and security guidelines.
• Identify billing errors and file claim appeals.
• Maintain updated knowledge of insurer policies and healthcare regulations.
