Robert Half International Payroll Administrator in Irvine, California

Description Robert Half Finance and Accounting has a client with a Payroll Administrator opening that is looking to staff now. You will contribute to the timely and accurate payroll production for employees as the Payroll Administrator. The ability to communicate effectively is crucial to this role. Key responsibilities

  • Comply with internal business partners, Information Technology, and Human Resources to ensure security protocols for pay systems

  • Provide timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

  • Manage data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

  • Accommodate staff with fringe benefits, pay related issues, general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, and wage deductions

  • Supervise quarterly and year-end payroll reports

  • Fulfill current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

  • Manage voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

  • Look into payroll areas, pay practices related to FLSA, and fringe benefit reporting to determine how those practices apply to advise management

  • Perform regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

  • Create systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of benefits administration

  • General familiarity with Employee Timesheets

  • Practical knowledge of Attendance System

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Approved Timesheets

  • Experience with petty cash

  • Good understanding of Garnishments

  • Previous experience working with garnishments payroll

  • Withholdings experience highly preferred

  • Expertise in compensation and benefits

  • Background working with ADP Workforce Now

  • Adeptness in Approved Timesheets

  • Earlier work involving Garnishment Calculations

  • Commissions accounting experience

  • Deep understanding of benefits payroll

    • FPC or CPP required
  • 3+ years of payroll experience

    • Background in HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

    • Prior practice in various withholdings, garnishments, and processing liens
