Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Irving, Texas
Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. There is a job opening with great career growth potential and a great benefits package in this quickly growing accounting team. The strongest candidates for this position will be able to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. Candidates who are self-starters and who have high attention to detail will be the best fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, since they will handle 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Irving, Texas area.
What you get to do every single day
Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
Verify codes and documents
Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
Strong familiarity with commercial collections
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired
Experience with cash applications
Adeptness in cash reconciliations
Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliation
Billing experience required
Commercial collections experience preferred
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
Efficient in ERP systems
