Description Utilize your skills in the CPA Firm - Other industry as a Controller for a renowned company for a position available through Robert Half. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations Requirements - Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
CPA/MBA preferred
