Robert Half Financial Analyst - Entry Level in Irving, Texas

Description Robert Half is looking for an entry-level Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing company. The primary tasks of the Financial Analyst role will consist of completing routine assignments and solving routine/standard problems with limited discretion, as well as providing daily support to the accounting and finance departments. For this Financial Analyst role, the ideal candidate must have the ability to be flexible, as well as adept at working with an extensive amount of data while meeting expectations. If you are a solution-oriented critical thinker with a passion for analysis, this is the Financial Analyst opportunity for you! This short-term contract / temporary to full-time employment opportunity is based in the Irving, Texas area.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and query large amounts of data

  • Check verified results at the corporate and division levels

  • Assist internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits

  • Possibly explain complex financial subjects to non-financial staff members in special projects

  • Contribute in annual budgeting process

  • Be of assistance to monitoring and maintaining internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements

  • Assist in various aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)

  • Stay updated on the preliminaries of monthly financial reporting and other business data

  • Have a hand in ensuring adequate controls and procedures

  • Devise unique alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and elevate financial performance of a company

  • Unify and interpret budgets and income statement forecasts Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable

    • Substantial computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
  • Expertise in Card Fraud

  • Proficiency in Detect Fraud

  • Anti-Fraud experience

  • Fraud Analytics experience

  • Experience with customer service

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
