Robert Half Payroll/Accounting Clerk in Irving, Texas
Description
We are seeking a Payroll/Accounting Clerk to join our client's team located in Irving, Texas. This role involves handling payroll functions, managing accounting tasks, and assisting with HR duties in our industry. Must be ok with wearing multiple hats as organization continues to grow!
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process payroll, ensuring accuracy in calculations, deductions, and taxes.
• Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll.
• Collaborate with team leads and managers to verify timekeeping information for all employees.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure system pay calculations are accurate, especially with regards to hours worked and overtime.
• Assist with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment.
• Regularly submit reports to the accounting department.
• Assist with new hire orientation to ensure smooth onboarding of employees.
• Utilize accounting software systems and HRIS for various tasks.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll.
• Ensure timely payment of payroll taxes.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, such as Payroll or Accounting Clerk.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.
• Experience with 'Paychex' software is desirable.
• Familiarity with Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) procedures.
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions and Benefits Administration.
• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration is a plus.
• Proficient in Automated Payroll systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
