Robert Half Staff Accountant in Irving, Texas
Description There is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Irving, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
Responsibilities
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process Requirements - Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Strong familiarity with Process Improvement
Knowledge of budget forecasting
Comprehensive knowledge of Full Cycle Accounting
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
