Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Jackson, Michigan

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk based in Jackson, Michigan. As part of our team in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry, you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, receipts, and payments.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and efficiently

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain and update financial data

• Ensure all financial records are up to date and accurate

• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly

• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate actions when necessary

• Collaborate with the team to improve financial processes and systems

• Evaluate and reconcile all vendor statements and manage all inquiries

• Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and accounts payable files

• Prepare accumulated accounts payable reports in an accurate and timely manner

• Assist in the streamlining of accounting functions and operations to enhance efficiency in the workplace. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry.

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers and internal departments.

• Proven ability to manage and process high volumes of invoices accurately and within deadlines.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to identify errors and discrepancies in data.

• Familiarity with financial software and systems.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
