Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Jackson, Michigan
Description Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. Attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department, this role works closely with and reports to the Accounting Manager. The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the Jackson, Michigan area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / contract to permanent opening.
Your responsibilities in this role
Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
Provide support to internal business partners
Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department
Carry out additional tasks as assigned
Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Accomplish full-cycle A/P
Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Strong familiarity with billing
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience required
Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
High attention to detail
