Job Information

Robert Half Account Manager in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

Because Account Managers are geared toward taking responsibility and making sure things are working well, it can be tempting to think that the core description of the job is to keep the client happy and to take sole ownership of all aspects of an account. However, this is not the primary responsibility of the Account Manager. The main responsibility of Account Manager can be summarized in these three words: Strategic, Communicative, and Developing. This means that Account Managers are ultimately held accountable for the success or failure of an account and are primarily responsible for the direction and destination of an account. They also have sole responsibility for client communication, and for developing their Account Coordinator(s) into being effective members of the team, which involves training and teaching them to be better at their jobs.

Below are ongoing tasks that Account Managers are responsible for:

Content Research

  • Reviewing the content calendars and topic calendars that Account Coordinators produce and getting client approval.

  • Ensuring the content calendars take the seasonality of the account into consideration as well as the brand objectives for the client.

  • Ensuring Gantt Charts for each client are created and keeping the Account Coordinator accountable for upkeeping that schedule plan.

Content Creation

  • Ensuring the content calendars that the Account Coordinators create line up with the brand and campaign objectives of the client’s goals.

  • Reviewing the content created by the Account Coordinators before sending to the client for approval.

  • Providing the Account Coordinators with feedback on the quality of the content and helping them learn the client voice and end product goals.

  • Writing projects should be submitted to the client before the 1st of the month, which means the Coordinators will be submitting the content on or around the 3rd week of the previous month.

  • Reviewing the images chosen by the Account Coordinators and providing training and feedback if the Account Coordinators are struggling with this aspect. Identifying appropriate and compelling featured images for content.

  • After the content is approved by the client, sending the content back to the Account Coordinator to post on all platforms.

  • Quality Control spot checking to ensure posts links work.

Emails:

  • Working with Account Coordinators to ensure the topic and direction of the emails are achieving the brand and campaign goals for the client.

  • Double checking the content, images, formatting, and links for the email campaigns, ensuring Account Coordinators are using appropriate UTM codes and tracking metrics.

  • Working with Account Coordinators on new kinds of email strategies that may work better for clients.

  • Coordinating email approval with clients and ensuring the strategic timing of the email deployment.

  • Account Coordinators should be taking leadership on the creation of the emails
