Robert Half Staff Accountant in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant within the non-profit industry. This role will be based in Jacksonville, Florida, and will involve working remotely. The primary function of this position is to handle the processing and accounting for the reimbursements of scholarship and tuition payments. This role is a part of our Program Accounting team, which operates separately from our corporate accounting group.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the growth of our Program Accounting team through effective financial management

• Managing the processing and accounting for the reimbursements of our scholarship and tuition payments

• Collaborating with guardians and providers/schools to ensure accurate and timely payments

• Utilizing accounting knowledge and attention to detail to handle large data sets at a high volume

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations and handling of data sets

• Gaining proficiency in our ERP system, Epicor, for efficient and accurate financial management

• Contributing to the breaking out of the department into smaller teams for efficient workflow

• Performing general ledger operations and creating journal entries

• Conducting bank and account reconciliations and managing accounts payable

• Participating in month-end closing activities and ledger account reconciliation

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff Accountant or related role within the Non-Profit industry

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience with Epicor software or similar accounting systems

• Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Proven experience in Month End Close processes

• Ability to perform Account Reconciliation and Ledger Account Reconciliation

• Experience with handling Accounts Payable (AP) is required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred

• Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
