Description Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Controller. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
General familiarity with inventory analysis
Demonstrated knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
Experience with Controllership Functions
Controllership experience preferred
General ledger experience
Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)
Strong familiarity with General Ledger System
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Vow to meet business deadlines
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
