Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. Major responsibilities

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience

  • Month end closings experience

  • Sage Accounting Software experience

  • Foundational knowledge in financial reporting
