The permanent Controller position is situated in the Jeffersonville, Indiana area. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Knowledge of inventory analysis
Financial reporting experience preferred
Strong familiarity with month end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of standard costs
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
