Robert Half Controller in Jenison, Michigan

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Controller in a small machine manufacturing company located in Jenison, Michigan. The role involves handling all financial and operational accounting in an industry specializing in building Injection Molding Machines. This role does not offer the potential for transition into a different type of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including end of month, end of year, budget, and financial statement analysis.

• Manage banking relationships, including line of credit and letters of credit.

• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and some inventory and purchasing as needed.

• Assist in determining benefits, insurance, and 401k plans for employees.

• Set up customers and manage credit.

• Utilize SYSPRO software for various tasks (knowledge of this software is helpful but not required).

• Ensure accountability and reliability in all financial operations.

• Conduct financial statement analysis and variance analysis.

• Handle the month-end accounting process.

• Prepare financial statements and manage standard costs. Requirements • Proven experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Advanced knowledge in Financial Statement Preparation

• Proficiency in Month End Close processes

• Understanding of Cost - Standard methods

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in financial software and databases

• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field; a master's degree or detail oriented certification (e.g. CPA or CMA) is a plus

• Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data

• Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information

• Ethical behavior when dealing with company financials and confidential company information

• Ability to strategize and solve problems promptly

• An analytical mind, capable of making informed decisions

• Sound understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods

• detail oriented certification such as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is desirable.
