Overview:

My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Equity Fund Controller to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the finance and accounting department, the successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of several private equity funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity accounting, fund administration, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:

• Manage all aspects of the financial operations for private equity funds, including financial reporting, fund accounting, and compliance.

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, performing regular reviews and reconciliations.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

• Generate and distribute periodic financial reports to stakeholders, including investors and management.

Fund Administration:

• Oversee the fund administration process, including capital calls, waterfall calculations, distributions, and investor communications.

• Work closely with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:

• Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

• Prepare and file required regulatory reports in a timely manner.

Audit Management:

• Coordinate and manage external audits, working closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit-related issues.

Cash Management:

• Monitor and manage fund cash flows, ensuring proper allocation and timely disbursement of funds.

Investor Relations:

• Act as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors.

Process Improvement:

• Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred, public accounting experience highly preferred.

• Significant experience in private equity fund accounting and administration.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles applicable to private equity funds.

• Excellent understanding of fund structures, partnership accounting, and financial instruments.

• Experience with financial reporting and compliance for private equity funds.

• Proven ability to manage audits and work with external auditors.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficient in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
