Overview:
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Equity Fund Controller to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the finance and accounting department, the successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of several private equity funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity accounting, fund administration, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
Manage all aspects of the financial operations for private equity funds, including financial reporting, fund accounting, and compliance.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, performing regular reviews and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Generate and distribute periodic financial reports to stakeholders, including investors and management.
Fund Administration:
Oversee the fund administration process, including capital calls, waterfall calculations, distributions, and investor communications.
Work closely with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Prepare and file required regulatory reports in a timely manner.
Audit Management:
- Coordinate and manage external audits, working closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit-related issues.
Cash Management:
- Monitor and manage fund cash flows, ensuring proper allocation and timely disbursement of funds.
Investor Relations:
Act as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred, public accounting experience highly preferred.
Significant experience in private equity fund accounting and administration.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles applicable to private equity funds.
Excellent understanding of fund structures, partnership accounting, and financial instruments.
Experience with financial reporting and compliance for private equity funds.
Proven ability to manage audits and work with external auditors.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
