Description
We are searching for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our banking team in Jericho, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, such as daily reconciliation, process manual ACH payments, and record accounting journal entries. This role also includes assisting in the month-end close process and the implementation of operational initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily cash reconciliations
• Manage daily reconciliation of various balance sheet and income statement accounts accounts
• Process significant cash transactions
• Record accounting journal entries
• Record specialty payable and receivable invoices
• Assist in the month-end close process
• Utilize skills in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Cash Applications to perform duties effectively
• Multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, meeting necessary deadlines.
Requirements • Applicant must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• No minimum years of experience required, making the role suitable for both fresh graduates and experienced individuals
• Familiarity with banking industry is advantageous
• Proven knowledge of Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Cash Applications is essential
• Strong proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict deadlines and regulations
• Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
