Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in Jersey City, New Jersey

Description We are offering a role for an Entry Level Accountant in our team based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The role is focused on managing financial procedures within our company. The position requires the individual to analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, track transaction patterns and execute accounting procedures. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with research, filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate and complete financial records

• Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents

• Assist in the preparation of budget reports

• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records

• Update and maintain accounting records, including those related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, and profit and loss

• Assist with audits and resolve discrepancies or issues

• Learn to work with various types of software for accounting

• Collaborate with colleagues and department heads to set budgets, devise financial strategies, and make decisions that are cost-effective

• Communicate effectively with clients

• Stay updated with industry trends and the latest regulations related to finance and accounting

• Use Accounting Software Systems, Acomba, Cl Programming, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, IBM AS/400, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Check Processing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Experience with Acomba software is desired

• Knowledge of Cl Programming is essential

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools is necessary

• Proficiency in IBM AS/400 software is a plus

• Experience with About Time software is desirable

• Ability to perform various accounting functions is required

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is essential

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Ability to handle check processing is needed.
