Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Jersey City, New Jersey
Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist based in Jersey City, New Jersey, to join our team. This role operates in the telecom industry and involves managing customer accounts, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records. The position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Generate invoices for goods or services provided and dispatch them to customers promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of business transactions including sales, receipts, invoices, and payments.
• Follow up with customers to ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accurately accounted for and correctly posted.
• Collaborate with the sales team to process customer payments and resolve any discrepancies in their accounts.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding their accounts or invoices, and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Prepare financial statements and reports regarding accounts receivables for upper management.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, as well as relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Establish and implement credit control policies and procedures to minimize unpaid debts.
• Regularly review the company's financial status, aged receivables and customer credit limits.
• Successfully pass all internal and external audits related to Accounts Receivable.
• Forecast cash inflows related to accounts receivable and assist in budgetary planning.
Skills:
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) and IBM AS/400
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites
• Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Billing Functions and Cash Activity
• Familiarity with Check Processing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is desirable
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 will be considered a plus
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Competence in using Microsoft Office Suites
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
• Familiarity with Billing Functions
• Ability to handle Cash Activity effectively
