Robert Half Senior Commercial Property Accountant in Jersey City, New Jersey
Description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will be working in the real estate industry, specifically focusing on commercial property accounting. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks and will have frequent interactions with management and property managers. This has some hybrid capability and great benefits!
Responsibilities:
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for tasks such as pivot tables, v look ups, and creating formulas
• Handle accounting duties for both commercial properties
• Utilize Yardi or any other ERP system for real estate management tasks
• Communicate effectively with management and property managers
• Oversee CAM Reconciliations.
• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action for delinquent payments
• Maintain a strong understanding of property accounting
• Work in a team environment, contributing to a positive workplace culture
• Utilize strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders
• Maintain accruals and record journal entries
Requirements
• CPA is preferred
• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant with a minimum of 5 years in the field is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, tax laws and regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Experience in using accounting software and databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
