Robert Half Accounting Manager in Johns Island, South Carolina

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our client. This role involves supervising accounting staff, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal controls, and maintaining proficiency in accounting software platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department and provide regular coaching and feedback to the accounting staff.

• Ensure departmental compliance with standard industry internal controls and maintain appropriate documentation to support compliance.

• Maintain proficiency in accounting software platforms to assist and troubleshoot issues and serve as a backup for accounting staff.

• Oversee and assist with bi-weekly payroll procedures as needed.

• Work closely with the Director of Finance to compile annual operating and capital budgets.

• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

• Review and execute the monthly bank reconciliations completed by the Accounting Manager.

• Maintain fixed asset records and monitor compliance with capital budget.

• Continually develop and implement process improvements including software implementation.

• Work with finance team and independent audit staff to ensure a clean and timely annual audit.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with Accounting Functions

• Demonstrated expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing, Budget Processes, and Month End Close procedures

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, a Master's degree is preferred.
