Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Johns Island, South Carolina
Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the government industry, located in Johns Island, South Carolina, United States. This role will require you to be a key player in maintaining our financial systems and processes, including the General Ledger. You will work in an office setting and will be expected to manage a range of responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing the processing of customer credit applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Managing the maintenance of accurate customer credit records
• Resolving customer inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate action when necessary
• Supervising and managing the General Ledger
• Implementing effective strategies to enhance financial processes and procedures
• Coordinating with the team to ensure smooth financial operations
• Handling financial discrepancies and irregularities
• Ensuring compliance with government financial regulations
• Providing guidance to the financial team for professional development. Requirements
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role within the government sector
• Hold a professional accounting certification, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge in General Ledger
• Showcase excellent managerial skills, with a proven record of supervising and leading a team
• Possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
• Have an excellent understanding of government financial regulations and standards
• Demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance individuals
• Show the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Have a strong ethical framework, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to government standards
• Show a willingness to continually update knowledge of industry trends and changes in regulations.
