Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Johns Island, South Carolina. This role is within the government industry where you will be in charge of managing financial data and processing invoices. The workplace is dynamic and the job function involves a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Processing and managing a steady stream of invoices and refunds on a weekly basis
• Using software such as Incode for data entry and other tasks
• Reporting and collaborating regularly with the accounting team
• Conducting research on misapplied payments and resolving discrepancies
• Making use of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for various tasks
• Performing account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
• Processing check runs to facilitate timely payments
• Coding invoices accurately for proper classification and record-keeping
• Ensuring efficient and accurate invoice processing
• Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking necessary actions for delinquent payments. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation tasks
• Experience with accounts payable (AP)
• Familiarity with check runs
• Ability to code invoices accurately
• Strong data entry skills
• Experience in invoice processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Knowledge of government accounting practices
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Detail-oriented and high level of accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and professional ethics
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
