Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Joliet, Illinois. This role plays a pivotal role in our team, managing our financial transactions and systems. The Bookkeeper will be instrumental in maintaining our accounts payable and receivable, processing payments, and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process and track customer payments and vendor invoices
• Maintain meticulous records of accounts receivable to ensure timely collection and account clearing
• Conduct daily cash management duties, including bank deposits, cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
• Aid in the improvement of the accounts payable and receivable processes by identifying areas for performance improvement
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in financial reporting, complying with both national and local financial regulations
• Support optimization of our financial transactions and systems through reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
• Monitor customer accounts for discrepancies, reporting any issues to the management team
• Assist in the generation of purchase orders when necessary
• Provide analytical and ratio analyses relevant to Accounts Receivable to aid management in understanding collection progress
• Support other finance team members in tasks related to inventory management and cost accounting. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping
• Capable of performing Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data processing and analysis
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge and experience in handling Payroll
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting and financial tasks.
