Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the construction/contractor industry, based in Jurupa Valley, California. This role involves supporting our team with month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. The position will also require experience with large ERPs such as MS Dynamics 365 and automated reconciliation systems such as Vena account reconciliations or Blackline.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in month-end close processes and prepare supporting schedules
• Handle the preparation and posting of journal entries
• Conduct account reconciliations, particularly for balance sheet accounts
• Implement and manage automated reconciliation systems like Blackline or other similar software
• Utilize MS Excel and other tools for various accounting tasks
• Work closely with other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist in the implementation of large ERPs, preferably MS Dynamics 365
• Respond to inquiries related to accounting and finance matters
• Ensure compliance with the company's internal control environment and accounting policies. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Construction/Contractor industry.
• Proven expertise in Month End Close procedures is required.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel are necessary.
• Experience in preparing supporting schedules is vital.
• Ability to perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is essential.
• Proficiency in preparing and managing Journal Entries is crucial.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are desired.
• Must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred.
• Must adhere to ethical standards and comply with all regulations applicable to our industry.
• Knowledge of construction industry-specific accounting software will be an advantage.
