Description

We are seeking a Cash Application Specialist to join our team in the plastics manufacturing industry, based in greater Kalamazoo, Michigan. The role involves maintaining accurate customer records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries. Additionally, you will be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.

• Manage and maintain up-to-date customer credit records.

• Handle and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

• Monitor customer accounts and conduct necessary actions based on account activities.

• Process freight invoices.

• Utilize accounting software, Epicor, to handle transaction workloads.

• Process and reconcile account receivables and remittances.

• Create regular reports to accurately track financial information.

• Perform periodic audits of the general ledger and company financial documents.

• Address payment issues like double payments or other discrepancies.

• Engage in collection management processes as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cash Applications within the plastics manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in using Epicor software for financial management tasks

• Ability to ensure accuracy in all financial transactions and documents

• Experience in handling Freight Charges and Process Payments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in creating and managing Pivot Tables

• Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team and independently as required

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the job
