Robert Half Patient Access Specialist in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Patient Access Specialist in our healthcare team located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This role primarily involves handling patient registrations, verifying insurance details, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service. It's a short-term contract employment opportunity that requires competencies in various healthcare related software and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations, ensuring all required information is collected

• Verify patient insurance details to ensure accuracy and facilitate a smooth billing process

• Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups, demonstrating excellent organizational skills

• Provide top-notch customer service, addressing patient inquiries, and resolving issues promptly

• Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude in all interactions with patients and colleagues

• Utilize knowledge of healthcare systems to streamline patient access processes

• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience

• Utilize various healthcare related software and tools such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, Epic EMR, Epic Software for operational efficiency

• Efficiently handle tasks related to Answering Inbound Calls, Authorizations, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Clinical Trial Operations

• Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records and monitor customer accounts for any necessary action. Requirements • Proficiency in healthcare software such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, Epic EMR, Epic Software

• Experience in answering inbound calls efficiently and professionally

• Ability to handle authorizations, benefit functions, and billing functions accurately

• Familiarity with clinical trial operations and the ability to support them

• Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration

• Excellent organizational skills to manage patient appointments and records

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

• Strong problem-solving skills to address patient inquiries and concerns effectively

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to patients and healthcare professionals

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and software in a healthcare setting.
