Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Controller in the financial services industry, located in KANSAS CITY, Missouri. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the administrative and financial functions of the organization, including financial planning, accounting, operational reporting, and risk management. The successful candidate will also be responsible for establishing relationships and strategic partnerships both internal and external to the organization. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development and implementation of financial and administrative tools, reporting, and decision support to influence the overall success of the organization.

• Establish and manage all accounting, business, and financial planning processes.

• Influence organizational profitability through the development of targets and coaching department leaders on budgets, margins, inventory, and related metrics.

• Provide support in new business development and mergers/acquisitions through expert analysis, due diligence, planning, and decision support.

• Develop and implement relevant, cost-effective finance/administrative policies and risk management initiatives to create an efficient, productive infrastructure.

• Ensure the financial health of the organization by managing financial stewardship and addressing any risks and issues.

• Serve as the technology leader for all technical systems, ensuring the organization has the proper technological tools and resources to meet business growth needs.

• Foster a high-performing team environment by recruiting, developing, and inspiring a team of financial and operational professionals, ensuring all staff are properly coached and directed.

• Develop and implement accounting and financial processes, plans, & policies.

• Process, enter, manage, and review a wide variety of financial and accounting information, including processes related to invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, cash controls and reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, inventory, asset management.

• Solve problems, develop solutions, and make critical decisions supported by substantial analysis and critical data-based decision making.

Requirements

• Exceptional leadership and management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Strong understanding of business financial laws and regulations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial planning software

• Proven track record of managing financial strategies

• Advanced analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required

• CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Proven ability to collaborate with a team and work independently.
