Description

We are in the market for a highly skilled Controller to join our organization, based in Kansas City, Missouri. This crucial role involves driving financial performance, ensuring compliance and providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making and achieve business objectives. Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

• Prepare and review financial statements, manage audits, and communicate financial performance to stakeholders.

• Lead in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control functions.

• Conduct the monthly closing process, including the consolidation of entities and financial statement preparation to meet required deadlines.

• Ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial reports.

• Ensure compliance and reporting requirements of state and federal agencies are met.

• Prepare and file various government documents, including property tax returns, license applications, annual reports, and surveys.

• Serve as a strategic partner to senior management, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business initiatives and achieve financial goals.

• Analyze cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Foster a work environment of trust, empowerment, and teamwork.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or similar role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proven experience in Financial Reporting

• Ability to prepare Consolidated Financial Statements

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Supervisory management experience

• Strong Leadership Skills

• Experience with Accounts receivables systems

• Excellent Communication skills

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification OR Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is preferred
