Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Katy, Texas
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in Katy, Texas. This role operates within the industry, managing large invoice backlogs and ensuring accurate data entry. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle a large backlog of approximately 1900 invoices
• Batch and match invoices ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Utilize various accounting software systems to process data
• Operate systems such as Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel
• Perform general accounting functions with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP)
• Carry out check processing duties
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in invoices or payments
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions
• Ensure efficient data entry for all transactions
• Regularly monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) software is essential
• Experience with IBM AS/400 is a plus
• Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne will be beneficial
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are necessary
• An understanding of Accounting Functions is required
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential
• Proficiency in Check Processing is needed
• Data Entry skills are required
• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies efficiently is important
